English Languages Challenges

Hi everyone!! The year is ending and it is the last post of the English course. Today I’m going to write about the learning of English in university. So the first course that I take was the level three or pre- intermediate the last year during the first semester. And I want take the next course (intermediate or level four) the second semester but I could not because the course was complete, and the first semester of this year also I could by the hour hand so I had to wait until this semester.

I think that the methods for learning English in the university are newfangled, like the blogs, to permit practise your written English and the idea to speak English all the class hour help to improve the level besides of improved the listening level. But the problem is that the content of this course are not sufficient for be an expert in English, for example the English in my school was not very good so there are skills some weak and that in the university yet I can’t improved.

So for this reason I hope can practise in the summer some of English for improved my vocabulary, because always I confuse the grammatical structures besides I want practise the listening and the speaking because to the hour of to talk I am left blank.  And for my all the skills are important because in my career is important, all the texts that I have to read are in English. Besides in internet all the posts that I read mostly are in English.

Changes to my study programme

Hi everyone! In the post of this weekend I’ll about the changes I would like to make to my study programme. The programme of Anthropology last five years, and has different subject of different areas, for example biology, sociology, archaeology, psychology and among others. All these subjects are intended to form integral professionals, and deliver knowledge about the different areas of anthropology social, physics and archaeology.

The first two years correspond to the basic cycle and each semester has six subjects. In these two years the burden is not so heavy, and the subjects are about the three mentions. In third year, we have to choose mention between Social Anthropology, Physic Anthropology or Archaeology.  In my case I want Physic anthropology and in this mention we have genetic, morphology, prehistory, paleontology, etc.

Respect the changes, the first two years should be modified, because the most of the subject are of social anthropology and for the people who want archaeology or physic anthropology the knowledges about your areas is minimum and they do not provide the necessary tools for the third year, and the workload and length of studies are complete different and they are more.

So I would change the programme the first and second year for to integrate more knowledges about the others areas of Anthropology. Besides I would change the teaching methods because sometimes the class is boring and your attention goes away, because the class is so long and the teacher sometimes only speaking. Maybe to make the class more entertaining the teachers could use technology and not only power point... (in this moment I can’t imagine anything)

SUMMER HOLIDAYS

Hi everyone!!...In this post I’ll write about my plans or ideas for these summer holidays. I do not have any plans for this vacation, besides my father works and is necessary have money to can travel to other places and eat. So my family and I spent the holidays in our house and family (San Carlos, my home hometown)

Although for the beginning of the holidays I plan to go to the cinema of Chillan and see some movie and then eat in somewhere a pizza, sandwich or anything else. Also as I’m on a birthday close to the holidays, it’s like a self-raiser to be with family.

As we travel a lot to other places, I would like work in some place of my city, to not have to travel by bus to nearby cities like Chillan. And I would like work in a restaurant or something like that, and my salary would save it for the university or to go somewhere with my family, for example Chillan and see some movie, eat in some cafeteria, etc. Besides I would like travel to San Fabian for a day or weekend and practice trekking with my father, my mum and sister, although I believe that my mum and sister would not last long.

I may also join with my classmates and prepare something to eat or watch a movie. We are also likely to talk about how it was during the year.

My favorite myth

Hi everyone! Today I will write about my favorite myths… I like many myths of different places, such as Greek, Egyptian and Nordic mythology mainly. Since I was a girl I like mythology and read the stories about gods, mythological beings and among others things and most of the time they were Greek myths like Pandora’s box, Medusa, The Minotaur, etc. or Romans like Romulo and Remo or the book of the dead, which is Egyptian. I like them because I love the stories of fantasy and other times with fantastic beings or other worlds.

Respect to my favorite myths, it’s difficult decide because I do not have a favorite, so I will write about myth of Orpheus and Euridice, I read this myth when I was a girl, and it is about two lovers, and the woman (Euridice) dies. So Orpheus decide to go get her the hell. So that Euridice can live, Orpheos must walk without looking back, but he does and he can’t rescue her.

Other myth that I like it is Medusa, but your history is some sad, because of Poseidon and for her beauty, Athenea castigate her and puts snakes on her head and she never can see to a person because him can become in stone.

I like them too myths about the origin of men, for example in Maya’s mythology the men were made of wood and corn, and is interesting for me because the corn is the base of  your feeding in the Maya’s zone.
